Eight traveling fighters, brought together by a common destiny, now meet at the Battle Arena Toshinden. Some fighters come for personal glory, others have come to fight for those they love. All shall do their best to become victorious in this tournament, which will decide their fortune.  ~ Intro screen.
 
Battle Arena is a decent fighting game riding on the fame and glory that came from mortal kombat and other fighting games. The game offers a nice variety of fighters each with a different set of fighting skills, along with easily configurable controls and several difficulty levels. It's hard to find the storylines, however, if you only play on the easier difficulties, and like any self-respecting fighting game, there's difficult bosses. Replay value is decent, but only really good inthe long-term if you and a friend can enjoy the game.
